Dr Salamat Ahuozia Aliu
She is a 37-year-old neuro-surgeon at National Hospital, Abuja. The first indigenously trained female neuro-surgeon in Nigeria, and also the first female to be a certified neuro-surgeon in West Africa. Dr Aliu,was born in Ilorin, Kwara State, where she had most of her education up to the university level. In 2016, she was listed in the top 100 persons of the year by Arewa socio-political group.
Prof. Azubuike Nkanginieme
Azubuike is one of the most recognised paediatricians in Nigeria. He is also the author of Paediatric and Child Health in the Tropics which many medical students find useful for paediatrics.
Dr Douglas Emeka Okor
Douglas Emeka Okor (now Nigerian based) Neurosurgeon, Entrepreneur, Motivational Speaker and Youth Empowerment Mentor. Early years and primary medical degree was in Benin City Nigeria. His Specialist Medical training was in the United Kingdom. An outstanding medical doctor who was born in Nigeria, studied in Lagos (Nigeria), England, Scotland and became famous across the USA and Europe as a psychiatrist and physician. Mr. Johnson has devoted his life and medical practice to studies and research in the field of how to treat addictions with medications. He has discovered different methods of treating people who suffer from alcoholism and received numerous awards for his work.
Dr Oluyemi Badero
A top Nigerian cardiologist based in New York, has been named among the top interventional cardiologists in the United States. Castle Connolly, the organization which publishes a leading annual publication of distinguished US doctors listed Badero among the top US doctors based in New York and reported that he is one of the interventional cardiologists to reckon with in the US.
Dr Oladotun Okunola
Oladotun Okunola, is a diplomate of the American Board of Sleep Medicine and American Board of Neurology and Psychiatry. Okunola graduated from the Howard University College of Medicine in 2001 and is affiliated with Morristown Medical Center. He specialises in epilepsy, clinical neurophysiology, and sleep medicine and he’s also a board-certified in both adult neurology and clinical neurophysiology. In 2010, Atlantic Health Sleep Centers (AHSCs), New Jersey launched the Sleep Movement Disorder Center and Okunola was appointed the medical director.

Dr Stella Ameyo Adedevoh
At the age of 24, Dr. Ameyo Stella Adadevoh graduated from the college of medicine from the University of Lagos. She subsequently completed her Fellowship in Endocrinology at Hammersmith Hospital of the imperial college in London. On her return, she joined and served at a family clinic First Consultants Medical Centre in Obalende, Lagos, Nigeria. She rose to become the Lead Consultant Physician and Endocrinologist.
It was at this facility that the first case of Ebola in Nigeria was discovered by Dr. Ameyo whose diligence and bravery stopped its major outbreak in Nigeria in 2014, at the cost of her own life.
Prof. Babatunde Oshotimehin
A former Minister of Health in Nigeria and Executive Director of the United Nations Food and Population Fund (UNFP) was an Under-Secretary General of the United Nations until his death.
