Atiku Abubakar
Atiku Abubakar GCON is a Nigerian politician and businessman who served as the Vice President of Nigeria from 1999 to 2007 during the presidency of Olusegun Obasanjo. In his speeches, Abubakar is a vocal advocate of the importance of Nigeria’s educational system. He is also the founder of the American University of Nigeria (AUN) in Yola, Adamawa. It was founded in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State as American University of Nigeria (AUN) by Abubakar in 2005. In a bid to alleviate the educational decadence in the North East, Abubakar issued scholarships to 15 escapees of the Chibok school girls kidnapping.
Mohammed Sabo-Keana
In 2019, the nominee was among 20 individuals globally to be awarded the prestigious UN SDG action award in Bonn, Germany for his advocacy for education and social inclusion of Almajiri children. He is also a recipient of the LEAP Africa most outstanding Alumni award, Negotiation and Conflict Management Group (NCMG) international peacebuilder award. In 2018, nominee launched the Almajiri Child Rights Day, to draw national attention to the lack of education and social exclusion of almajiri children and have since then made it an annual event involving critical voices and stakeholders such as governors, UN Deputy Secretary General Ms Amina Mohammed, Global UNICEF Director, EU Ambassadors. The result of his advocacy and partnership with both state and non-state actors like the EU and UN has helped at influencing policy actions at the highest policy levels and increased local and international focus and support for education of Almajiri children. With support from Polish Embassy in Abuja, the Nominee is facilitating the establishment and construction of school in Kamfanin zango community of Kaduna state to support education of repatriated Almajiri children in that community. His organization is also supporting education of Almajiri in Katsina and IDPS in wasa camp Abuja.
Abdulsalam Abdulkarim Zaurah
More commonly known as AA Zaurah, He is a philanthropist and one of the youngest grassroot politicians in Northern Nigeria. He is also the founder of the AA Zaurah foundation. The foundation has empowered over 4,000 women and children with resources to earn a living and also created rehabilitation programs to fight the increasing rate of drugs and substance abuse in Northern Nigeria. A strong believer in education, his foundation restored dilapidated school buildings, built new ones and provided incentives to encourage young children to go to school. They also provided employment for young graduates to teach in these schools, thereby providing jobs and ensuring that children get basic education.
Mai Atafo
Mai Atafo is the founder and creative director of fashion brand, ATAFO, which specialises in bespoke menswear, womenswear alongside bridal and evening couture. The dynamic brand is also known for their stylish approach to traditional Nigerian wear, testament to Mai’s deep connection to his heritage and his own roots. ATAFO, formerly known as Mai Atafo, is a multidisciplinary fashion brand which creates menswear, womenswear and bridal collections. Over the years, Mai Atafo has received various recognitions and awards such as Menswear Fashion Brand of the Year in 2018 and Outstanding Contribution to Nigerian Fashion in 2019.
Olasunkanmi Opeifa
Olasunkanmi decided that he would become a teacher at the age of eight. As a student, he volunteered as a teacher in a free tutorial centre that prepared underprivileged students for secondary school examinations and university entrance. He served for a year in a very remote part of the country, Koma, Adamawa, as the only English teacher in a village school of over 200 students. There, he helped build the school’s first ever library. In 2012, Olasunkanmi moved to Government Day Secondary School Karu, with more than fifty students per class, he grappled with teaching English to children who had poor writing skills, some degree of reading disabilities and relative poverty. He turned this situation around by introducing edutainment, fun-based learning, online videos and the Flip Classroom Model in his teaching. In 2018, Olasunkanmi was awarded Maltina Teacher of the Year, and in 2019, his school was among the top ten schools nationwide in the Global Diamond Challenge.
Nnaemeka Andegede Chukwuone
Chukwuone Nnaemeka is the Director of the Resource and Environmental Policy Research Centre (REPRC)- EfD Nigeria. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Agricultural Economics University of Nigeria Nsukka. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics with a specialization in Resource and Environmental Economics. For over twelve years, he has been working, carrying out research and policy advocacy on local and global issues in agriculture, environment and resource economics, and development economics. He has published widely and presented at different international conferences and meetings. His research focuses on climate change, fisheries and marine economics, forestry, agricultural finance, economic valuation, and lately, carbon pricing. Some of his publications include;

Prof Anthonia Ifeyinwa Achike
Achike Anthonia Ifeyinwa is a Professor of Agricultural Economics, University of Nigeria. She is a Research Fellow in REPRC, EfD Nigeria. She holds a PhD degree in Agricultural Economics. She has participated as a consultant and trainer in many Gender evaluations, mainstreaming and training activities at both national and international levels. She has also conducted many baseline, evaluation, benchmarking and impact studies for various national and international organizations. Her research interest is on Environment and Gender Issues and some of her publications include;

Rochas Foundation is a non – governmental, non-profit and charitable organization founded in 1998 with headquarters in Abuja, Nigeria. It was founded by Rochas Okorocha, a Nigerian Businessman and politician. Rochas Foundation has several subsidiary foundations which include Rochas Foundation College of Africa. Rochas Foundation focuses on empowering less privileged children on the streets of Africa through access to quality education through provision of free education scholarships. It has 21 tuition-free schools across 12 states in Nigeria. In October 2019, Rochas Foundation budgeted one billion Naira to help out-of-school children in Nigeria. In 2018, it offered scholarships to one thousand children in Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in Benue State.

They also focus on developing students’ skills and talents by providing them with quality hands-on-training on coding, design thinking, engineering and robotics, and guiding them to make informed STEM career-decisions that will set them moving into a big future of STEM.
Halima Abdulkareem Onyekehi
Halima Abdulkareem Onyekehi was born on 20th November 2012 to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Abudulkareem Onyekehi Suleiman from Ajaokuta Local Government, Kogi State. She is a child speaker and advocate who have earned for herself an audience all over the world. She has delivered speeches on Girl Child rights at several public functions including the Kogi State Independence Day event, TEDx Okene, International Girl Child Day event organized by AIT, NTA programs, Northern Nigeria Award, Ned Nwoko Zero Malaria Project, and many more, She has been involved in several debates in and out of her school. Halima is home-mentored by her parents in public speaking. Her future ambition is to become a legal practitioner. This is motivated by her respect for human rights especially the Girl Child rights. She has received both national and international recognition and won multiple awards, including the G Influence Niger Delta Special Talent Award, City People Award, NEA Award, and Australian awards Princess of Comedy and Most Prominent Kid Comedienne. In 2018, She landed a contract to feature in a Hollywood movie shot by Disney Studios. She was nominated alongside Davido, for Nickelodeon 2018 Kids Choice Awards, under the category of Favorite African Stars, and in 2021, she won the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Award for Favorite African Social Star.

Oyindamola Aje, a student of Jesuit Memorial College, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, emerged winner of the second edition of the InterswitchSPAK National Science Competition held in Lagos. He defeated eight other finalists in an intense quiz session to win the grand prize of N7.5 million worth of tertiary education scholarship which will be spread over five years.

Enehizena emerged as the winner of the 2019 junior category of the cowbellpedia mathematics secondary school quiz show. The final battle night saw Enehizena Michael from Scholars Universal Secondary School, Ogun State emerge the Cowbellpedia champion in the junior category by garnering 125 points at the end of the two-round encounter.

Oghenero emerged as the winner of the 2019 senior category of the cowbellpedia mathematics secondary school quiz show. Oghenero Ologe from Zionsfield Private School, Lagos State took the win at the expense of Akinyemi Dabira of The Ambassadors College, Ota, Ogun State and Hezekiah Olabisi of Bibo Oluwa Academy, Ilesha, Osun who emerged first and second runner-up respectively.
