Anthony Sule (Antoine Collections)
A footwear company that produces and sells bespoke and ready to wear footwear. Established in 2017, Antoine Collections commenced with the primary focus of delivering quality products with a delightful customer experience.
Four years down the road, they have established their own work space, creating a team of five multi talented individuals, possessing a growing customer base of over 200 plus individuals and selling 300 plus footwear with awards from the Netherlands foreign affairs ministry and the British Council.
OUTSTANDING YOUNG CREATIVE AND ELOQUENT POET
Iyanu Adebiyi is a Nigerian-born writer and performance poet; an artiste interrogating and exploring social issues as they affect the wellbeing of individuals and the society at large, with an aim to inspire, foster and advocate for positive and sustainable change.
Her debut spoken word album, Wonder, was released across digital platforms in 2020. She has been artistically engaged by both local and international organizations.
Through her meaningful performances and social media platform, she has reached several thousands of people with the power of words, which continues to change the lives of her audience in significant ways. She is also a Legal Practitioner based in Abuja, Nigeria.
OUTSTANDING CREATIVE SCRIPT WRITER
Kemi Adesoye is a Nigerian screenwriter. She wrote her first script in 1998. She attended a workshop at IFBA International Film and Broadcast Academy, where she learnt of an MNet sponsored project called “New Directions”. Subsequently, Adesoye got on board for the DStv-produced medical series Doctors Quarters. She continued to get average jobs, until she met Kunle Afolayan, for whom she wrote the thriller film The Figurine.
The Figurine was released to wide critical acclaim and ended up winning major awards, including five Africa Movie Academy Awards. The overwhelming success of The Figurine catapulted Adesoye into one of the most sought after writers in Nollywood; she started writing for major television series such as: Edge of Paradise, Tinsel, Hotel Majestic, and several feature films, including the acclaimed romantic comedy Phone Swap.
OUTSTANDING CREATIVE PHOTOGRAPHER
A visual storyteller, Andrew Esiebo captures scenes from everyday life in the urban landscape, exploring how personal narratives interact with wider social issues. Interrogating themes such as sexuality, football, gender politics and migration, his work blends the personal with the political. His recent project, Pride, explores scenes in barbershops across West Africa, offering a glimpse of the animated spots where men of different social classes sit side by side for this social ritual.
The Everyday Africa project saw Esiebo embrace the immediate potential of Instagram to capture everyday moments that circumvent the conventional portrayal of life in Africa with images that are subtle, intimate and refreshing. Esiebo’s work has been exhibited at Lagos Photo Festival, African Photography Encounters in Mali, and the Havana and Sao Paulo biennales.
OUSTANDING CREATIVE SCULPTOR ARTIST
Bruce Onobrakpeya is a celebrated Nigerian painter and printmaker. Celebrated for his innovative printmaking techniques, Onobrakpeya pioneered bronzed lino relief and metal foil deep etching in bold patterns and colors to explore Nigerian folklore and contemporary life. His aesthetic drew inspiration from a variety of source material, including the art of the Benin Kingdom, regional Nigerian landscape painting, Christian iconography, and the political turmoil of his home country, all of which he depicted in his art. Today, his works can be found in the collections of the Vatican Museum in Rome, the National Gallery in Nairobi, and the National Museum of African Arts, Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., among others.
